“Connectors … They’re an open door that’s never closed to possibilities. This makes them totally receptive to the abundance that’s always ceaselessly flowing.” - Dr. Wayne W. Dyer in The Power of Intention
A confident leader does not lead us away from something. A confident leader leads us toward something – a better future. We can only be led to a better future through a more joyous present.
Fear, including fear of the future, robs us of present joy and causes us to over-anticipate, thus freezing action in the present moment.
What is Abundance?
While it is logical to assume that abundance leads to joy, I’m convinced that joy produces abundance. For this to be true, we have to realize that an abundance defined only by what we come to possess is limiting. And true abundance does not focus on what we lack but on what we already have – and what we believe we will have. We believe it and claim it so presently.
What is Confidence?
Confidence is not a result of how we feel, thus determining our actions. Our actions determine how we feel, thus building our confidence.
I created a brand around Building Confident Leaders not because I’m smart – but because my Clients are smart. This is what they told me I was doing and I was good at it. And there it is – my preferred definition of confidence: To act from your strengths and do what you love.
Gratitude
I was recently reminded of how the original vision of the work I do included the intent to impact abundance in our society’s workplace. Be grateful for your journey of self-discovery as a leader – A leader who cares and who is free to be who you are. You are motivated not by fear, but by love. You are someone who confidently gives to others (offers abundance) because you know how to freely give these things to yourself.
