KTW Wisdom & Encouragement

Kathryn Tucker Windham, Storyteller – Selma, Alabama

That’s exactly how Kathryn tells her emcees to introduce her for each of her performances at the National Storytelling Festival. Actually, now that I’ve come to know her, she doesn’t perform. She just takes herself on stage. You see, she’s the same on stage as she is in the golf cart I use to get her to the stages.

Each year Kathryn leaves each audience with a two part message. She always ends with “Go home and tell your stories.” And there is usually another theme she attaches. This year, she had three themes. I want to share those here:

  1. Listen to others …
  2. Say thanks to others …
  3. Take time …

Finish each statement for yourself … but do practice each one. You will make a wise, beautiful, loving Storyteller from Selma, Alabama very happy.

About Jeff Brunson

In this whirling 21st Century the individual needs to embrace the authentic self and confidently leverage the energy and power found there. As we entered the 21st Century, I became more concerned about what leaders like you needed for successful influence and personal fulfillment. As we move deeper into this challenging 21st Century, I’m more convinced than ever that the core of my work is in helping individual leaders remember who they are − a trueness. It is about confidence found in your authenticity.
