Skill Highlight 3 – Messaging

You are the message. Your Brand is the succinct version of that message. It takes constant awareness for you to build Brand awareness and representation.

While words and how you use them are very important, be intently aware of how important you are in each and every message. If you’ve properly chosen the right words to illustrate your Brand, then when heard, people know what it is you do when it’s all said and done. It is that what that opens their listening allowing them to go to their right place because of your words – because of your message.Always test your message against the credibility of your Brand. This is Brand awareness and representation.

Your Desire & Intent as a Leader is very important to those you lead. It is critical to your success, and the success of others, that you are skillful in creating and articulating a clear vision.

A Leader is a leader because there are followers. What a Leader desires and intends for those followers is critical for collective success in the 21st Century. It’s not  enough to just possess Desire & Intent – it must be shared. By sharing your Desire & Intent for those you lead, you put yourself on the line.

You make a compelling commitment. You illustrate clearly and simply what others can expect of you. This compelling commitment stirs the emotional intelligence required to create and share a clear vision.

The 21st Century Leader is also becoming skilled at using the concepts of Story in communication, connection, and message.

We will talk more specifically about Story and Storytelling. For now, know this; It is skillfully leveraging the concepts of Story that bring together all our components of communication to make a meaningful connection and get the message through.
