Skill Highlight 5 – Giving

Part of your authentic growth is helping others grow authentically.

Authenticity – Knowing your values, living by your values, consistently creating meaningful goals and strategies, and becoming more and more confident at leveraging your strengths.

You cannot give to others what you do not have. In order to do some thing for others, you must be able to do this thing for yourself. Give yourself the gift of time – time for growth and development. Give yourself the gift of effort. This time and effort for you is selfless – not selfish.

It is doing the right things to be certain you have what you desire to give to others.

Effective giving, to both individuals and to the community, is most congruent when cross referenced with your Brand.

Giving is only effective when done in the right spirit – free of an expectation of return and free of guilt.

Cross-referencing to your Brand means that the particular action planned and taken is congruent with who you are at your core and how you desire to be perceived. Wherever and however you choose to give, give authentically.

Giving authentically means you give your time and efforts according to the impact you desire to make. Again, this must be represented in your Brand.

It is about confidence found in your authenticity.
