Freedom and Confidence – Planning

This time each year is my “planning season.” It is a time where I review my focus and narrow my approach in making more real the institution of what I know: A friend once challenged me to “Build an organization that confirms and makes real what you know.” And for me, I have added, “and what I love.”

I love the journey of my brand, and I love the work I know in light of my brand. Most importantly, I love those for whom I do this work. This time for thinking, celebrating, and planning is important on the journey. It is a time to renew trust in the brand, trust in who I am, and trust in what I do. It assures my own authentic trust in the flow. It is a time beside the stream so I am ever more confident and positive as I continue to wade in the stream.

Trusting in the flow is a very active faith in both self and the connection of events unfolding. It is less about the letter of the plan and more about what is opened to me by the enterprise of a holistic plan.

    • Melanie, I so appreciate your interest in my planning process. All the goals and action strategies that may be produced come from a simple structure – one that was not so simple to discover, but took some time.

      It is based on a system of strengths and the resource of my own Desire & Intent. It looks like this:

      My system of strengths is a three point set of connective strengths that have become one with my business model: Gathering – Giving – Growing.

      These have become the headings for my 3-point Desire & Intent for those I serve – and that looks like this:
      Gathering – That you embrace the power in who you are
      Giving – That you confidently act on this authenticity
      Growing – That you lovingly lead others to their own authentic confidence

      I will then develop goals and action strategies to move forward in 2011 – narrow the focus of my Brand – Building Confident Leaders. As of now, I’m looking into 3 main strategic categories for this along with 4 targeted areas of competency:

      1 – Coaching
      Private Presentations
      2 – A New Conversation (developed program)
      3 – Leadership Confidence for the 21st Century (program)
      Story Gathering
      4 – Writing

      Hope this makes sense … and is at least a little bit interesting !!!
